7.2 Permissible line system types
Description
In combination with the drive system, the motors are generally approved for operation on TN
and TT supply systems with grounded neutral pointand on IT supply systems.
When operated on IT supply systems, a monitoring device must signal the 󹪝rst fault between
an active part and ground. According to IEC60364-4-41, remove the 󹪝rst fault as quickly as is
practically possible.
For line supplies with grounded line conductor, use an isolating transformer with grounded
neutral point (on the secondary side) between the line supply and the drive system in order
that the motor insulation is not inadmissibly stressed. TT supply systems generally have a
grounded line conductor. Therefore install an isolation transformer.
