CLUTCH SPRING FREE LENGTH
Measure the free length of each clutch spring using vernier
calipers. If any spring is not within the service limit, replace all
of the springs with new ones.

Service Limit: 49.9 mm (1.96 in)
Shift fork groove width
Standard: 4.8 – 4.9 mm (0.189 – 0.193 in)
Shift fork thickness
Standard: 4.6 – 4.7 mm (0.181 – 0.185 in)

GEARSHIFT-FORK-TO-GEARSHIFT-FORK GROOVE
CLEARANCE
Clearance for each gearshift fork plays an important role in the
smoothness and positiveness of the shifting process.
Measure the gearshift fork clearance in the groove of its re-
spective gear using the thickness gauge.
If the clearance exceeds specification, replace the fork, its re-
spective gear, or both.
