4.6 12-Lead ECG Measurements
4.6.1 Description
The Vitalograph ECG software is intended to be used with BT12 12-Lead ECG
devices. For further information on the device, refer to the BT12 Instructions For Use.
The software offers automated ECG analysis and algorithm-based interpretations
using the scientifically recognized Glasgow algorithm. The device is not intended to be
used as the sole indicator for subject diagnosis and is not intended to be used as a
vital signs physiological monitor.
4.6.2 Main Components of the Vitalograph ECG Software
• 12 Lead ECG Capture and Display
• Heart Rate Measurement
• Parameter Calculation e.g. P duration, PQ interval, QRS period
• Glasgow Algorithm based Interpretation
• Detailed ECG Reporting
• Built-in filters (Line and Muscle)
4.6.3 BT12 Device Setup
Note: Prior to this setup the COMPACT device must be running in configuration mode.
See Configuration Mode on the Vitalograph COMPACT Device.
Prior to obtaining an ECG recording, the PC/COMPACT running the ECG software
and the BT12 device must be paired using a Bluetooth connection:
1. Plug Bluetooth dongle into USB on PC/COMPACT before starting the ECG
software. Note: Where PC has integrated Bluetooth capability with the Microsoft
Bluetooth stack, a Bluetooth dongle will not be required.
2. Turn on ECG device. Press ECG test button. The device should automatically
pair. If problems occur, go to Tools > Options > ECG > Device Configuration
and select Add/Pair. Spirotrac auto-detects available devices. When BT12 has
been found by Spirotrac, the serial number of the device is shown. Note: The
serial number is preceded with 'BT12v_SN:' identifier.
3. Select serial number of BT12 device to be paired and click OK. If the serial
number of the BT12 device is not displayed, it may already be paired with
another PC/COMPACT. To clear prior pairings, turn BT12 device off. Hold the
device On/Off button for 20 seconds until a double beep is heard.
4. The Bluetooth driver will ask for a PIN during pairing. Enter PIN "1111" and
press OK.
5. The device is now connected and ready for use. Reference the BT12
Instructions For Use for more information about the device.
