1. Put device in configuration mode. See Configuration Mode on the Vitalograph
COMPACT Device.
2. Connect USB device containing driver files to USB port on the COMPACT.
3. Select Tools > Administration > Install Software.
4. Select required installer/self-extractor, then select Run and follow the on-screen
instructions/wizard.
18.7 Connect Device: Vitalograph Pneumotrac USB to PC
To connect the USB Pneumotrac:
1. Plug one end of USB cable into USB port on PC (usually marked with
symbol).
2. Plug other end of USB cable into USB port at side of the Vitalograph
Pneumotrac (marked with symbol).
3. Unwrap flowhead connection tubing from its packaging. Connect one end of
tubing to the Pneumotrac device. Ensure the ribbed side of tubing is connected
to ribbed half of the connector.
4. Unwrap flowhead from its packaging and connect other end of tubing to it.
Ensure the ribbed side of the tubing is connected to the ribbed half of the
connector. Note: If flowhead connection tubing is connected the wrong way
around, flows will display as inverted on Spirotrac.
5. The Pneumotrac device is ready for use.
6. USB driver must be installed on the PC to begin testing. Refer to USB driver
instructions for details.
18.8 Connect Device: Serial Vitalograph Pneumotrac to PC
To connect the serial Pneumotrac:
1. Plug one end of serial cable into available serial port at the back of the PC
(usually marked with the symbol). If the PC has a 25 pin serial port
connector use a 9 pin to 25 pin port adapter.
2. Plug other end of serial cable into serial port at side of the Vitalograph
Pneumotrac (marked with the symbol).
3. Unwrap flowhead connection tubing from its packaging. Connect one end of
tubing to the Pneumotrac device. Ensure the ribbed side of tubing is connected
to ribbed half of the connector.
4. Unwrap flowhead from its packaging and connect other end of tubing to it.
Ensure the ribbed side of the tubing is connected to the ribbed half of the
connector. Note: If flowhead connection tubing is connected the wrong way
around, flows will display as inverted on Spirotrac.
5. The Pneumotrac device is ready for use.
