1. Following the instructions supplied with the Vitalograph 2120, connect the
supplied serial cable with the device. Ensure that the battery is charged, or the
power supply is connected.
2. Connect the 9 pin ‘D’ serial connector on the other end of the 2120 cable to the
appropriate serial port on the PC.
18.10 Connect Device: Vitalograph In2itive/Alpha to PC/Vitalograph
COMPACT
To connect the Vitalograph In2itive and Vitalograph Alpha:
1. Plug one end of USB cable into USB port on PC/COMPACT (usually marked
with symbol).
2. Plug other end of USB cable into USB port at side of the Vitalograph
In2itive/Alpha (marked with symbol).
3. The Vitalograph In2itive/Alpha device is ready for use.
4. The In2itive/Alpha driver must be installed on the PC to begin testing. Refer to
USB driver instructions for details.
18.11 Connect Device: Nonin Pulse Oximeter to PC/Vitalograph
COMPACT
To connect the Nonin Pulse Oximeter:
1. Plug one end of USB cable into USB port on PC/COMPACT (usually marked
with symbol).
2. The Nonin Pulse Oximeter is ready for use. See Pulse Oximetry Testing for how
to perform testing.
3. When entering test screen: if issues occur in communicating with the device, go
to Tools > Options > Pulse Oximetry and select Detect.
18.12 Connect Device: Vitalograph Gold Standard to PC
To prepare the Vitalograph Gold Standard for use:
1. Plug one end of USB cable into USB port on PC (usually marked with
symbol).
2. Plug other end of USB cable into USB port at rear of Gold Standard (marked
with symbol).
3. Unwrap breathing tube from its packaging and connect flexible end of tube to
the Gold Standard device.
4. Insert a disposable bacterial viral filter (BVF) into the plastic adaptor at the other
end of tubing.
5. Set desired starting position using the Volume Adjustment Handle.
6. The Gold Standard device is ready for use.
7. USB driver must be installed on the PC to begin testing. Refer to USB driver
instructions for details.
