18 Appendix
18.1 Connecting to a network database with Spirotrac on PC
To configure Spirotrac to use a network database:
1. Select Tools > Database Management.
2. Select/Enter name or I.P. address of the SQL Server host.
3. Select/Enter SQL Server instance name.
4. Select Authentication mode from dropdown list and enter user login and
password if SQL authentication.
5. Select required database from list and select Apply.
18.2 Connecting to a network database with Spirotrac on a
COMPACT device
The Vitalograph COMPACT is supplied with a full installation of Spirotrac, including all
device drivers and a test station licence. A network licence key is required (see 2.2).
To gain access to a network database the SQL server must:
• accept remote connections
• allow SQL Server Authentication
• have a SQL server login that uses SQL Server Authentication which has access
to the Spirotrac database
To use a network database from the COMPACT:
1. Select Tools > Database Management.
2. Select/Enter name or I.P. address of the SQL Server host.
3. Select/Enter SQL Server instance name.
4. Select SQL Server Authentication from the Authentication dropdown list.
5. Enter SQL server user login and password.
6. Select required database from list and select Apply.
18.3 Install Drivers: Vitalograph Pneumotrac/Intrac on PC
Note: These drivers are installed automatically as part of Spirotrac Installation.
To install drivers manually:
1. Run Setup from the installation media.
2. Select Install USB Pneumotrac
3. Follow on-screen instructions.
