ANALYSIS OF PROBLEMS– SOLUTIONS
Minor problems can be solved without consulting the manufacturer.
A list of the most common problems and the possible solutions is given below.
61
PROBLEMS SOLUTIONS
1.0 The diverter valve does not switch over or does so at
times much slower than those indicated in the Manua
1.1 At the moment of switching over, check to make sure the
pneumatic seals are discharged.
1.2 Check to make sure the actuator is powered at the minimum
recommended pressure
1.3 Check to make sure the chokes are not closed excessively
1.4 Make sure the actuator solenoid valve is powered and that the
solenoids are in working order.
1.5 Make sure there is no dirty material inside the diverter valve
blocking the rotation
2.0 Material present inside diverter valve body or in the space
between the drum and diverter valve body
Air leaks between drum and diverter valve body.
Inflatable seals not working
Air leaks near the air connections of the seals.
2.1 Check to make sure the inflatable seals solenoid valve is supplied
correctly at the right pressure.
2.2 Check to make sure the inflatable seals solenoid valve and its
solenoid are in working order.
2.3 Check to make sure the air connection duct is unobstructed.
2.4 Check to make sure the seals are not worn or cut
2.5 Check to make sure the gaskets are fitted correctly and the air
connector is inserted properly in the opening present on the
profiles of the seals
Clean the seals, the internal seats, the feed nozzles thoroughly
before fitting the seals. If necessary, apply a thin film of silicon in
the seats of the seals to increase the airtight sealing
While assembling the air connections, it is advisable to cover the
thread with Teflon tape and make sure the connector does not
project beyond 5-6 mm inside the seats.
3.0 At the time of the switching over, the diverter valve
induces strong vibrations on the structure to which it is
connected
3.1 Change to make sure the rotation times are more than the
minimum recommended times. If rotation is faster, supply the
actuator at the recommended pressure and adjust the movement
by closing the choke valves.
3.2 Check to make sure there is no dirty material inside the body and
in the inner space between the drum and the body.
4.0 The switch over completed signal cannot be received
from the Micro switch Box
4.1 Check to make sure the diverter valve actually reaches the
operating positions
4.2 Check to make sure the cams inside the Micro switch BOX are
adjusted properly.
4.3 Check to ensure the correct working of the micro switches and
correct connection in the terminal board
5.0 Abnormal wear inside diverter valve (tube - inlets) 5.1 Check to make sure the drum is aligned correctly with the diverter
body inlets.
5.2 Check to make sure the switching takes place always without
passage of material and after a wash cycle (passage of air only).
