Installing the Switch
Table-Mounting or Shelf-Mounting
To install the switch on a table or shelf, locate the adhesive strip with the rubber feet in the mounting-kit
envelope. Attach the four rubber feet to the recessed areas at the bottom of the chassis (see Figure 2-11).

After Installing the Switch
After the switch is installed, you can configure the switch using various options.
• Configure the switch by running the Express Setup to enter the initial switch configuration. For
instructions, see the Catalyst 3650 Switch Getting Started Guide at
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3650/hardware/quick/guide/cat3650_gs
g.html.
• Use the CLI setup program to enter the initial switch configuration.
• Connect to the front-panel ports. See the “Connecting a Device to an Ethernet Port” section on
page 2-19.
