Environmental data
This section provides the environmental data for the Symmetrix
DMX-3 system.
Environmental
Acclimation
The Symmetrix DMX-3 requires a period of time to become
acclimated to a data center environment. Use the following process to
prepare the system for the data center:
â—† Completely remove all packing material from the system.
Packaged accessory (that is Open First) boxes may remain with
the system.
â—† Dispose of the packing materials appropriately.
â—† Move the system into its operating environment and allow the
system to stabilize in the new environment for up to 16 hours
specified in Table 43 on page 266. If the operating environments
temperature are unknown then allow the system to stabilize in
the new environment for 16 hours.
â—† EMC recommends opening both the front and rear doors of the
system to facilitate environmental stabilization.
â—† Do not apply AC power to the system for at least the number of
hours specified in Table 43 on page 266.
Note: Temperature and humidity values experienced by the system must be
such that condensation does not occur on any system part. Altitude and
atmospheric pressure specifications are referenced to a standard day at 58.7°F
(14.8°C). Maximum wet bulb temperature is 82°F (28°C).
