Maintenance
4.2 Maintenance Instructions
To assure instrument performance and safety,
the analyzer has to be checked regularly, at
least once a year.
During maintenance especially parts found
relevant for explosion protection have to
be taken into account. For non-incendi-
ve X-STREAM gas analyzers this par-
ticularly includes the enclosure and the
corresponding gaskets. Enclosure and
gaskets need to be checked for dama-
ges, and gaskets must be suffi ciently tight
(
leakage test, page 4-4).
During maintenance, the optional gas samp-
ling pump has to be evaluated for grinding
moving parts, creating sparks.
Internal connectors have to be regarded
accordingly. They need to be fi xed, to not
produce sparks during operation.
4.2 Maintenance Instructions
Parts found a potential risk of
hot spots, arc or sparcs must
be replaced!
The user/owner has to take re-
sponsibility to modify the main-
tenance interval regarding the
conditions at site
(infl uence of
gases or ambient atmosphere on
material in contact with sample/
calibration gas or which are re-
levant for
explosion protection
[e.g. enclosure sealing]).
By visual inspection of the interior of the ana-
lyzer, especially the electrical components,
it must be verifi ed that components are not
overloaded. Overloaded components may
become hot, and thus become a source of
ignition! An indicator for overload may be
discoloration.
4.3 Gas Paths
Detailled information about maintenance,
replacement of components and performing
a gas paths leakage test are available in the
associated X-STREAM XE series general
instruction manual.
