4.13.1 PAPER FEED MOTOR
Adjustment
Refer to Figure 4-25
1. Remove the Upper Case (4.1).
2. Loosen the three screws on the base of the
aaper feed motor (fig.4-25).
3. Position the motor to insure positive drive
without binding. Minimum gear backlash is
0.05-0.15mm (.002 - .006 inches)
4. Reassemble the printer and perform a self
test. During the self test verify consistent
paper advancement.

4.14 PAPER END (PE) BOARD ASSEMBLY
Refer to Figure 4-26
Removal
1. Remove
the Printer Mechanism (4.7).
3. (RX, MX) Unsolderthe two leads from the
PE Board(fig. 4-26).
4. (FX) Unplug the PE Board connector from
the Control Circuit Board.
5. Carefully bend the tabs that secure the PE
Board to the paper guide.
6. Unhook the PE Lever spring from the outer
paper guide.
7. Remove the PE Board Assembly.

Replacement
1. Reassemble in reverse order.

REPAIRS/ADJUSTMENTS
4.15 INTEGRATED CIRCUITS
Removal
1. Turn the power switch OFF and unplug the
power cord.
2. Remove the Upper Case (4.1).
3. Remove Control Circuit Board (4.6) and place
on a flat surface.
3. Use an IC removal tool (6.2.1) to carefully lift
the IC from the circuit board.
Replacement
CAUTION
Never hold ICs by their pins.
Static could cause damage.
1. Examine the replacement IC to be certain
that It is the correct one.
2. Check that all pins are at right angles to the
IC package.
3. Install the IC in the socket with an IC Inserter
Tool (6.2.1) and press firmly into place.
Make sure all pins are engageci in the socket.
4. Install the Control Circuit Board.
