5.3 PRINTER CLEANING
It is important that the following items be looked at each time a printer is
serviced so
that the printer will have the greatest chance of performing
satisfactorily for the longest possible time.
Clean Platen surface with Xerox Platen Cleaner.
Clean the interior surfaces of the printer removing all paper lint and dust
with a brush or vacuum.
Clean the face of the Print Head with Film Remover to remove any ink that
might be blocking the pin exit holes.
Clean the Ribbon Mask, with Film Remover, of any built-up ink.
Clean the outer casing with a mild detergent such as Formula A.
Reinstall any parts which were removed for servicing. Replace the Printer
Cover and confirm proper operation by performing tne appropriate printer
self test one final time.
