Note:
Ensure to use the appropriate amount of coffee powder for each filter basket. The
pores of the filter baskets have exactly the right size to reach the correct pressure
with the predetermined amount of powder.
8. Fill the coffee powder into the filter basket. With the 1 cup filter basket use 1 - 2
measuring spoons of coffee powder. Use 2 - 3 spoons for the 2 cups filter basket.
9. With the 1 cup or 2 cups filter basket, distribute the ground coffee evenly in the
filter basket. With the flat end of the measuring spoon (tamper) press the espresso
powder down evenly. Do not press the coffee powder too tightly (see: ‘Selection
and Storage of Coffee’).
When using espresso pads, insert the pad into the pad filter basket. Only use one
separate pad for each extraction.
10. Wipe off thoroughly any spilled espresso powder on the rim of the filter basket
or ensure that the paper filter of the espresso pad does not reach the rim of the
filter basket.
IMPORTANT: The rim of the filter basket must be completely clear, clean, and dry
to ensure a good, pressure-tight seal at the group head.
