or distilled water, which
is affecting how the
machine is designed to
function.
We recommend using cold, filtered tap water or low-
mineral table water. We do not recommend using
water with no or extremely low mineral content such as
highly filtered, de-mineralised or distilled water. If the
problem persists, contact an authorized Service Centre.
CARE AND CLEANING
WARNING: Always ensure that the appliance is out of reach of young children.
Steam and hot water may escape from the group head and hot water / steam wand.
Handle with care to avoid scalds. Always switch OFF the appliance (press the
POWER button), then unplug the appliance, and leave the appliance cool down,
before moving or cleaning the appliance. Do not attempt to move the appliance or
disassemble any parts during operation.
Hygienic cleaning is done via the steps given in the following instructions. Ensure
to protect the housing, power cord, and power plug against splashing water and
moisture. Do not immerse the housing, or power cord in water or any other liquid,
to avoid hazards due to electric shock and damage. Do not spill or drip any liquids
on the housing and power cord to avoid risk of fire and electric shock. Do not
clean the appliance, or power cord, or any of the parts or accessories in an auto-
matic dishwasher!
Do not use any violence. Do not use any abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads (e.g.
metal scouring pads) for cleaning the appliance or any parts of it, to avoid damage
to the surfaces.
CLEANING THE HOT WATER / STEAM WAND
WARNING – RISK OF BURNS! During use and even shortly thereafter, hot
water and steam could escape from the hot water / steam wand and the hot
water / steam wand will be hot. Do not hold your hands and arms or any delicate
objects beneath or near the hot water / steam wand while it is still hot. Ensure that
the hot water / steam wand points to the drip tray, when it is not in use.
IMPORTANT: After every use, thoroughly wipe the hot water / steam wand with a
damp cloth and purge immediately to remove any residues of milk or coffee (see: ‘Tex-
turing Milk’). Otherwise, the milk texturing performance may be affected. Additionally,
milk will go bad quickly, leading to a stale and unpleasant odour and taste. Thus, you
should clean the hot water / steam wand thoroughly at least after each day.
