Coolant Temperature Indicator and
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
Continuing to ride with an overheated
engine can cause serious engine damage.
The coolant temperature indicator ( ) and
the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) ( )
light when the coolant temperature reaches
252°F (122°C). At the same time, the
numbers in the coolant temperature meter
display start flashing.
If this occurs, stop the engine and check
the reserve tank coolant level. Read pages
and do not ride the
motorcycle until the problem has been
corrected.
