HRN216 CAMSHAFT/CRANKSHAFT/ PISTON/CYLINDER
INSTALLATION
1. If the lower crankcase seal showed signs of oil leakage
before disassembly, replace the seal (P. 1 0 -8
).
2. Place the thrust washer into the crankcase and center it
around the crankshaft boss.
3. Insert the timing gear onto the new crankshaft so that the
projection on the timing gear is fully inserted into the slot
in the crankshaft.
4. Rotate the camshaft so that the two-dot marking is aimed
at the center of the crankshaft boss (P. 1 0- 8
).
5. Insert the crankshaft with timing gear into the crankshaft
boss so that the two-dot marking on the timing gear align
with the two-dot marking on the camshaft.
Ensure the timing gear is still fully inserted into the
crankshaft. If it is not, the connecting rod will not align with
the crankshaft journal.
