Removing the Side Panels
1 Loosen the two thumbscrews on the right side
of the back panel. You may need a flathead
screwdriver. These screws do not detach;
they’ll stay on the side panel loosely until you
tighten them again.
2 Pull the panel toward you until it stops. Lift the
panel off the chassis and set it aside.
3 If you are replacing an optical drive, remove
the other side panel in the same manner. Note
that the screws on this panel detach and are
loose from the panel.
4 Gently lay the computer on its side. Skip this
step if replacing an optical drive.
