Bearing Setting Rings
If the bearing outer cups and setting rings have been
removed, fit new rings so that they are flush with the outer
face of case as shown at A. Press in the outer bearing cups
from the inside of the casing as shown at B. Push in the cup
until it is up against the setting ring.
Casings
If the gearbox casings are to be renewed, be sure to fit
blanking plugs and adapters as required. Inspect the original
casings and identify the blanking plug and adapter positions.
Transfer the plugs and adapters to the new casings. Apply
JCB Threadlocker and Sealer to the threads.
Note that new plugs may be supplied with a sealant ‘patch’,
in which case sealant need not be applied. Torque tighten
plugs to 25 - 28 Nm (18.4 - 20 lbf ft).
Before fitting adapter C, be sure to fit the orifice restrictor
inside the port.
