1.
Stop the machine so that drain plug (1) is directly at the
bottom.
2.
Remove oil level plug (2).
If the oil level is near the lower edge of the hole of plug (P),
the oil amount is proper.
3.
If the oil is insufficient, remove oil filler plug (3) and add en-
gine oil until it spills over oil level plug (2).
4.
Install oil filler plug (3) and oil level plug (2).
Securely tighten oil level plug (2) and oil filler plug (3).
METHOD FOR CHECKING BATTERY ELECTROLYTE LEVEL
Perform this procedure before operating the machine.
WARNING
Do not use the battery if the battery electrolyte level is below LOWER LEVEL line. If you do so, it will
reduce the service life of the battery. In addition, it may cause an explosion.
The battery generates flammable gas and there is a danger of explosion. Do not bring any open flame
near the battery.
Battery electrolyte is dangerous object. If it gets in your eyes or on your skin, wash it off with a large
amount of water and consult a doctor.
Do not use a dry wipe to clean the battery. A wet wipe will prevent fire or explosion from static electrici-
ty.
NOTICE
Do not add the electrolyte to the battery exceeding UPPER LEVEL line. If the electrolyte level is too
high, it may leak and cause damage to the paint surface or corrode other parts.
When adding purified water in cold weather, add it before starting operations in the morning to prevent
the purified water from freezing.
Do not use the replenishment water for a battery which contains sulfuric acid. Density of sulfuric acid
increases and it shortens the battery life.
Inspect the battery electrolyte level at least once a month.
METHOD FOR CHECKING ELECTROLYTE LEVEL FROM SIDE OF BATTERY
If it is possible to check the electrolyte level from the side of the battery, check as follows.
