Condition
Engine is cold.
ಥ Check the engine oil level.
The engine oil must be between the halfway mark and the top of the oil level

» If the engine oil level is below the specified level:
ಥ Top up the engine oil. ( P. 137)

ಥ Drain the engine oil and clean the engine oil screen. ( P. 135)
ಥ Remove the oil filter. ( P. 135)
ಥ Mount the oil filter. ( P. 136)
ಥ Fill up with engine oil. ( P. 136)

ಥ Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves. If you scald yourself, hold the affected area under cold water immediately.

Drain the engine oil only when the engine is warm.
ಥ Stand the motorcycle on its side stand on a horizontal surface.

ಥ Remove engine oil plug screen

ಥ Completely drain the engine oil.
ಥ Thoroughly clean the plug and gear oil screen.
ಥ Clean the sealing area on the engine.
ಥ Check parts for damage and wear. Replace damaged or worn parts.
ಥ Fit plug
 for the engine oil screen and tighten it.
