(3) Replacing Fuel filter cartridge
① Fuel pre-fuel filter
 Loosen the drain plug and drain fuel in the filter.
 Disconnect electric wire of the fuel filter sensor.
 Remove element from the body.
 Remove fuel filter sensor from the element and
assemble it to the new element.
 Attach new element to the body.
 Connect electric wire of the fuel filter sensor.
 Tighten the drain plug and bleed the air from the
fuel filter. (See page 5-30)

▶Do not fill the new element with fuel. It may cause damage to the injection system
by the invisible filthy materials.
Caution
Main fuel filter

② Main fuel filter
 Apply parking brake and set a container under
the main fuel filter.
 Turn the filter counter-clockwise to remove with
using a filter wrench.
 Coat the seal of new filter with a little fuel.
 Assemble new filter.
 Bleed the air from the main fuel filter. (Refer to
the chapter 5-13, “General maintenance” )
▶Do not fill the new element with fuel. It may cause damage to the injection system
by the invisible filthy materials.
