Return Hydraulic Filter Assembly
Element Removal
1. Shut down all hydraulic systems.
2. Wipe any dirt from the filter head and cap assembly.
NOTE: The bypass valve assembly is installed to the cap
and is removed with the cap.
3. Remove the four bolts securing the cap assembly to the
filter head. Remove the cap and bypass valve assembly.
4. Remove the filter element from the filter bowl (housing).
5. Ensure the new filter element is correct by comparing
their part numbers with the part numbers of the used
element.
6. Discard the element.
Element Installation
1. Place a new element into the filter bowl (housing).
2. Install new O-ring in the cap assembly.
3. If by-pass valve was removed from cap, install by-pass
capscrews to cap.
4. Install cap assembly on filter head and secure with the
four bolts. Torque bolts 14.9 ±2.7 Nm (11.00 ±2.00 lb-ft)
until the gasket starts to bulge slightly. Do not over
torque. Torque bolt in a criss-cross pattern.
5. Activate the hydraulic system and check for leaks. make
repairs as necessary.
Hydraulic Reservoir Removal
Remove the capscrews, flatwashers, lockwashers and hex
nuts securing the reservoir to the fame. Using a suitable
lifting device, remove the reservoir.
Hydraulic Reservoir Installation
Using a suitable lifting device, install the reservoir to the
frame and secure with the capscrews, flatwashers,
lockwashers and hex nuts. Torque the capscrews see
Fasteners and Torque Values, page 1-11.
DANGER
Ensure that all hydraulic systems are shut down and the
pressure is relieved.
