30.2 Inspection
30.2.1 Diodes
1. Test the resistance between the diode and heat
sink. First touch the positive (+) prod of an
ohmmeter to the diode, then the negative (–) prod.
If the resistance is infinite in both cases, the diode
is open. If it is nearly zero in both cases, the diode
is shorted. Do the same step for the remainder of
the diodes. If any diode is open or shorted,
replace the rectifier.
