15.6 Crankshaft pulley removal
1. Install two safety bars (M12 x 1.25) into the
threaded holes in the rear end of the crankshaft.
Put a bar between the safety bars to hold the
crankshaft to prevent it from rotating.
2. Remove the crankshaft pulley.

15.7 Timing gear case removal
Remove the bolts that hold the timing gear case in
position and remove the case.

15.8 Timing gear backlash
measurement
Measure the backlash of each gear and keep a record
of it for correct installation. Replace the gears if the
backlash exceeds the limit.

îîWARNING
When removing the crankshaft pulley, be prepared to
stop the job in case the bar slips off the crankshaft to
prevent injury.

îîCAUTION
The front plate is bolted inside the timing gear case.
Do not attempt to remove this plate along with the
timing gear case by tapping.
