You may see the icons listed in Table 2-8 on the Command Bar located at the bottom of the screen.

Battery Backup battery is very low.

Synchronization is occurring.
Instant Message Notification that one or more instant messages were received.
E-Mail Notification that one or more e-mail messages were received.
Time and Next
Appointment
Displays current time in analog or digital format.
Multiple Notifications There are more notification icons than can be displayed. Tap to display
remaining icons.
