6 Hardware Overview
This chapter will give you an overview of the controller sections and their software equivalents.
6.1 Top Panel - Main Areas

will give you an overview of the controller's top panel areas and their software
equivalents.
6.1.1 Decks
TRAKTOR KONTROL
S2 provides you with two physical Decks. These Decks always control
Track Decks A and B of the TRAKTOR PRO 2 software. However, there is a dedicated mode for
controlling TRAKTOR's Remix Decks C and D with the CUE/REMIX SLOTS sections on both
Decks. The corresponding mode is called Remix Deck mode, whereby the four CUE/REMIX
SLOTS buttons on each Decks control the Remix Decks' Sample Slots. (See section ↑7.5, Us-
ing the CUE/REMIX SLOTS Section for more information on the CUE/REMIX SLOTS section's
modes). To sum it up:
▪ The left Deck on your S2 controls the upper Track Deck A in TRAKTOR (and the lower
Remix Deck C when in Remix Deck mode).
▪ The right Deck on your S2 controls the upper Track Deck B in TRAKTOR (and the lower
Remix Deck D when in Remix Deck mode).
