Thebalerisdesignedtomakecylindricallyshapedbales
notexceeding800kg(1763.7lb)composedof3distinct
layersofvaryingdensity.
Level1,theoutercroplayer,isthemostdense,providing
goodweatheringcharacteristicstothebale.
Level2consistsofhigherdensitylayers,withoutdamage
tothecrop.
Level3isalowdensitycore,allowingthecroptobreath.
Thethicknessoftheselayerscomparedtoeachotherwill
bealteredbychangingtheoverallfullbaledensity.
Thequalityofthebaleiswhollydependentuponmany
variables,includingthetypeandvarietyofcrop,howthe
cropwasprepared,sizeandshapeofthewindrow,mois-
turecontent,feedingrateandtheoperatordrivingtech-
nique,andselectedbaledensity.
NOTE:Thethicknessoftheselayerscomparedtoeach
otherwillbealteredalsobychangingtheoverallfullbale
densityonthemonitorinthetractor.

particularthesafetyinstructions,beforeproceeding
withoperation,adjustmentsandmaintenance,and
repairsdescribedinthismanual.
Preparingthehaycropforbaling
Thecroptobebaledcanbepreparedinanumberof
ways,dependingonyourpreferenceandequipment
available.Themostdesirablebalesareproducedwhen
thecropiscut,conditionedandthenrakedintowindrows
ofthepropersize.
Thisallowstheoperatortoweaveandproperlyposition
thematerialinthebaler,producingcompact,uniform
bales.
Moisturecontentrequirementsfortheroundbaletech-
niqueisupto18%maximum.

Ifthemoisturecontentistoohigh,spoilagecanbe
expected.
•
Ifthemoisturecontentistoolow,excessiveleafloss
andshatterwilloccur.
Cutthecropaslongaspossible.Inmostcrops,longer
materialiseasiertobaleandresultsinsmoothernished,
moreweather‐resistantbales.
Donotoverconditionthematerial,particularly
legume‐typecropssuchaslucerneandclover.
Overconditioningwillcausetheleavestodrytooquickly
andbreakoffwheretheyaredamaged,resultingin
losses.Ifthebalesaretobestoredoutside,excessive
shatteringofstemswillinvitemoistureabsorption.
Underconditioningcanalsocausespoilage,particularly
whenbalingcane‐typecropsandotherheavystemmed
materials.
