Brake Light Replacement
The brake light (A) is located in the rear tail lamp housing.
1. To remove the brake light electrical connector (A) ,
p
ress in on the tab on the connector to unlock the
connector and pull the connector from the bulb
assembly.
2. To replace either of the bulbs, turn the holder
as
sembly counter-clockwise to remove and pull out.
Turn the holder assembly clockwise to install. Refer
to the parts manual for the correct bulb part number.
Brake Light Switch
1. Disconnect battery.
2. Remove the front rack.
3. Remove the front cover.
4. Locate and remove both relays from the relay block.
Remove
single Torx screw holding relay block to the
vehicle frame. Move relay block towards the front if
the vehicle. The brake light switch is directly below
the relay block.
5. Disconnect wire harness from switch.
6. Connect an ohmmeter acro
ss switch contacts.
Reading should be infinite (
¥).
7. Apply brake at handlebar lever and check for
co
ntinuity between switch contacts. Replace switch
if there is no continuity or greater than .5 ohms
resistance when the brake is applied with slight
pressure.
