Installing and removing a CFast card (external slot)
A slot for a CFast card is located on the bottom of the device. Installing and removing the
CFast card is the same for all device variants.
Use only SIMATIC IPC CFast cards for industrial application.
Note the following points:
• Use the slot described here exclusively for a
.
• Do not insert
CompactFlash cards (CF cards)
into the slot for the CFast card.
• Always replace the SIMATIC IPC CFast card with a SIMATIC IPC CFast card of the
same production version or higher. For the SIMATIC IPC477, only SIMATIC CFast
cards with production version 02 or higher may be used.

● The device is disconnected from the power supply.
● SIMATIC IPC A CFast card that is approved for industrial use.
The procedure for installing and removing the CFast card in an external slot is the same for
all device variants.
If you are using the memory card in a device installed in a system, you must observe the
safety regulations for work on electrical systems.
Note
Carefully insert the CFast card into the slot without applying excess force.
