BRAKE CALIPER REMOVAL AND
DISASSEMBLY
• Drain brake fluid. (!5-48)
• Disconnect the brake hose from the brake caliper by remov-
ing the brake hose union bolt

NOTE:
Place a rag underneath the union bolt to catch any spilt of brake
fluid.
• Remove the brake caliper by removing the brake caliper
mounting bolts

• Remove the brake pads. (! 5-47)
• Remove the brake caliper holder

1 and rubber parts

• Remove the pad spring

3.
• Place a rag over the pistons to prevent them from popping out
and then force out the pistons using compressed air.

• Remove the dust seals

4 and piston seals

Brake fluid, if it leaks, will interfere with safe running
and discolor painted surfaces. Check the brake hose
and hose joints for cracks and fluid leakage.
Do not use high pressure air to prevent piston dam-
age.
Do not reuse the removed dust seals and piston seals
to prevent fluid leakage.
