CAMSHAFT RUNOUT
With the camshaft held on the V-blocks, measure the runout with
a dial gauge. If the runout exceeds the service limit, replace the
camshaft.
# Camshaft runout: Service Limit: 0.10 mm
! 09900-20606: Dial gauge (1/100 mm)
09900-20701: Magnetic stand
09900-21304: V-block set (100 mm)
CAM CHAIN TENSIONER
INSPECTION
Check the contacting surface of the cam chain tensioner.
If it is worn or damaged, replace it with a new one.
CAM CHAIN TENSION ADJUSTER
INSPECTION
Check that the push rod 1 slides smoothly with the lock A of the
ratchet mechanism released. If it does not slide smoothly or the
ratchet mechanism is worn or damaged, replace the cam chain
tension adjuster with a new one.
CAM CHAIN AND CAM CHAIN GUIDE
INSPECTION
Check the cam chain for wear, damage and kinked or binding
links. If any defects are found, replace it with a new one.
Check the cam chain guide for wear and damage. If it is found to
be damaged, replace it with a new one.
