CALIBRATION AND START-UP
8.4 MAINTENANCE
The relay shave no special maintenance requirements; all circuits use high quality static compo-
nents and the machined parts are subjected to dynamic testing before assembly into the device.
The dedicated circuits and self-test rmware run continuous checks on the device's operation.
The option to read the values of the measured parameters (when using the device as a measurement
tool) allows you to check both the system parameters and the operation of the protection relay at any
time by comparing them with values read by external instrumentation.
The information saved when the device is tripped (faults) and the DFR logs are of great value in deter-
mining the whether the relay is working properly; the lack of alarm messages is a further guarantee
that it is working as it should, so that no further checks are required in normal operation.
8.5 REPAIRS
The unit is not serviceable by the user; if the above checks conrm that the device is faulty after a
malfunction, the relay should be sent to the manufacturer for repair and calibration.
8.6 STORAGE
The relay should be stored in the specied temperature conditions; the relative humidity conditions
should not lead to the formation of condensation or ice.
It is best to store the device in its original packaging; when stored for a long time, especially in crit-
ical climatic conditions, the device should be powered up for a few hours prior to installation and
commissioning to bring its circuits up to the normal operating conditions and stabilise the operation
of its components.
