Type designations
When contacting your Volvo dealer and when
ordering spare parts and accessories for your
car, it makes things easier if you know your
car’s type designation, vehicle identification
number and engine number.
1. The VIN (Type and model year
designations and chassis number) is
stamped in the engine compartment
underneath the windscreen
2. Type designation, chassis number,
maximum permissible weights, codes
for colour and upholstery and type
approval number (on the right-hand B-
post)
3. Engine type designation, component
and serial number (on the right hand
side of the engine)
4. Gearbox type designation and serial
number,
(a) manual gearbox (on the front)
(b) automatic gearbox (on the top).
