Cargo compartment safety grille
(option)
The protective grille prevents cargo or pets
from being thrown forward in the passenger
compartment in the event of heavy braking.
For reasons of safety, the grille must always
be mounted and secured correctly.
Folding up
If the cargo compartment safety grille is in the
way it can be easily folded up towards the
roof:
1. Take hold of the bottom of the cargo
compartment safety grille.\
2. Pull straight backwards and upwards.
Then release. The gas struts prevent the
grille from dropping down.
Cargo compartment
To fold down the grille carry out in reverse
order.
Removal
Remove the protective grille as follows:
1. Fold the rear seat backrest forward
slightly (to relieve the load from the gas
struts).
2. Remove the protective caps from the
nuts holding the cargo compartment
safety grille on both sides.
3. Unscrew the nuts until the threads are
flush with the edge of the nuts.
4. Turn the grille backwards in the car
slightly to release it from the upholstery.
Do not angle the grille too much as it
can become wedged, making it difficult
to pull out.
5. Carry out the same procedure on the
other mounting and then lift out the grille
carefully.
Fitting
To install the grille:
• Follow the instructions in reverse order.
• Tighten both the nuts. Tighten to 24 Nm.
If unsure about installing or removing
the protective grille, contact a Volvo
workshop for advice.
Privacy panel (option)
Pull the privacy panel over the cargo and
hook it into the holes in the rear pillars of the
cargo compartment.
Fitting the privacy panel:
• Press the end pieces of the privacy
panel down into the holders.
Removing the privacy panel:
• Press the end pieces of the privacy
panel inwards, pull up and release.
