7.3 PREPARATIONS FOR COMMISSIONING
7.3.2 GUN RECOGNITION
The EPG-SPRINT XE control unit automatically detects whether a manual or automatic
gun is connected to the control unit (parameter C26 must be set to "OFF"). It does this by
checking whether the trigger switch is activated when it is switched on.
– If the trigger switch is pressed, the gun is an automatic one. The powder feed is switched
on and o by a primary controller via the remote input.
– If the trigger switch is not pressed, the gun is a manual one. The powder feed is switched
on and o with the gun's manual trigger.
Functional faults!
Do not operate the spray gun's trigger while the control unit is being switched on
and is powering up.
NOTICE
7.3.1 OPERATING MODES
The EPG-SPRINT XE supports the following operating modes:
– Manual gun mode (manual system with vibrator control)
– Manual gun mode with external control (remote interface with external release
(required for coating and cleaning) and for external control of cleaning function)
– Automatic gun mode for maximum of 1 automatic gun
A further loops of the mains voltage for additional EPG control units is not possible.
In the rst two listed operating modes, the conguration parameter C26 must be set to
OFF (factory setting). The operating mode is automatically recognized by the control unit
(parameter C26 must be set to "OFF", see Chapter 7.3.2).
