5 Installation
5.1 General information 5.2 Installation location
BlueCool S air-conditioning systems are generally installed in
the living area.
Requirements for the installation location:
• Sufficient space must be available to ensure access to
the refrigerant, sea water, condensed-water drain and
electrical connections. See Chapter 4.6, “Dimensions
and minimum distances”.
• The system must be accessible for service and
maintenance purposes.
• The air-conditioning unit must be installed on a flat,
horizontal surface.
• As condensed water results during operation of the air-
conditioning unit, a drain line must be provided on the
condensate tray.
NOTE
To ensure proper operation, the following must
be observed:
• Air outlets must be installed above below
the ceiling to ensure sufficient mixing and
cooling or heating of the room air.
• Avoid a cold air short-circuit between the air
outlet and the air inlet. These must be
mounted with a sufficient distance from
each other.
• The cabin temperature sensor may not be
mounted on the air outlet, as otherwise the
controller cannot detect the actual
temperature in the room.
• All components must be positioned and
installed in accordance with their installation
instructions.
• A noise reduction can be achieved if desired
by insulating the area around the system.
FLAMMABLE
Danger of ignition of explosive gases!
Danger of ship exploding.
Do not install air-conditioning system in rooms
with highly flammable liquids or gases.
CAUTION
The air-conditioning system can intake and
distribute escaping carbon monoxide and
other gases!
Danger of poisoning and suffocation.
Never install the air-conditioning system in the
machine room of the ship's engine or in any
other room in which harmful gases can be
sucked in.
