6 Electrical Connections
6.1 General information
The entire air-conditioning system must be protected by
external circuit breaker in the supply line.
With the BlueCool S27, not only the power supply of the
PCB, but also a separate power supply for the compressor
must be provided, which must also be protected externally.
See Fig. 17.
The minimum cable cross-section must be taken into
account.
6.2 Installing electrical box
Install the electrical box.
Make sure that the fastening screws are accessible for
opening and removal.
Any desired installation position may be chosen for the
electrical box if no requirements are placed on the IP
protection class.
However, for Protection Class IP22 and higher, the
connections for the digital display and cabin temperature
sensor and the USB connection must be directed
downward.
Make sure that the maximum permissible ambient
temperature (see table in Chapter 4.7) is not exceeded.
6.3 Connecting unit
Many electrical connections are already preassembled on
the models S8 and S20. Only the sea water pump and a
power supply must be connected.
Please observe the wiring diagrams in Chap. 7 when doing
so.
A separate mains supply for the compressor with a 20 A
circuit breaker is required for model S27. The use of a relay
is required for this purpose.
No external relay is required when using the Soft Start with
an integrated relay.
S8 to S20 without Soft Start
Connect the sea water pump.
Guide the connection cable through the PG cable gland
and connect in the cable terminal (Fig. 14, No. 10).
When operating several BlueCool S Series units with one
sea water pump, observe Fig. 18, “BlueCool S (several
units, 1 pump)”.
CAUTION
Connection of electrical system carries
230 V!
Danger of injuries or fatal accidents and damage
to the air-conditioning system or other electrical
devices.
Work on electrical systems which carry 230 V
may only be carried out by persons certified
accordingly for this purpose.
Before working on the electrical system, the
system must be disconnected from the power
supply.
