Camshaft
5. Install the dowel pins “1”, intake camshaft
caps “2” and “3”, and exhaust camshaft
caps “4” and “5”.
TIP:
When installing the camshaft caps, make sure
that the arrow marks “a” on the camshaft caps
point toward the camshaft sprockets.
6. Tighten the camshaft cap bolts “1” until
camshaft caps contact the cylinder head in
the order [1], [2], and so on.
TIP:
Make sure to keep the camshafts level.
7. Tighten the camshaft cap bolts “1” to the
specified torque in the order [1], [2], and so
on.
8. Align the punch marks “a” on the cam-
shafts with the marks “b” on the camshaft
caps.
9. While pushing the timing chain tensioner
rod “a”, turn the timing chain tensioner
housing “b” in direction “c” until the groove
“d” in the tensioner rod is aligned with the
snap ring “e”.
