Oil cooler, oil pump, and drive gear
Oil pump and oil pump drive gear
removal
1. Remove the oil pump.
2. Hold the drive coupling “1” using the spe-
cial service tool “2”.
3. Turn the bolt “1” clockwise to loosen it, and
then remove the bolt “1” and oil pump drive
gear “2”.
Oil cooler check
1. Connect the hose “1” and special service
tool “2” to the inlet of the oil cooler water
passage. Block the oil cooler ASSY outlet
using rubber plugs “3”.
2. Apply the specified positive pressure and
check that the pressure is maintained. If
the specified pressure cannot be main-
tained, replace the oil cooler.
Oil pump check
Do not disassemble the oil pump.
1. Check that the oil pump driven gear turns
smoothly. Replace if the movement is
rough.
Oil pump drive gear and oil pump
installation
1. Install the oil pump drive gear “1”, and then
tighten the bolt “2” temporarily.
2. Hold the holder “1”.
