3.2 Programming limitations
Searching with welding wire
In systems where searching with the welding wire is needed, a wire trimmer is
necessary to ensure a known wire stick-out. A wire trimmer is a hardware device
that requires extra I/O. This option may be purchased though ABB.
The use of searches ranges from very simplistic to very complex. In some instances,
very complex searching techniques must be used to adequately determine weld
seam locations. In such instances, assistance from an experienced ABB technician
may be required.
