Circuit diagram
The centrifugal pump (inside the engine, activated by the engine) sucks in the coolant from the radiator
and sends it through the ducts in the cylinder and the cylinder head to cool down the internal parts of
the engine. The increase in fluid volume (caused by a temperature increase) is compensated in the
expansion tank. Check the "LOW" and "FULL" references to check level and top-up the fluid.
Electric fan check
ELECTRIC FAN CHECK
To check the electric fan operation:
•
Remove the lower protection.
•
Disconnect the electrical connection
«1» of the electric fan control.
•
Power the electric fan directly with a
12V direct current voltage according to
polarity.
•
Check if the electric fan is operating
correctly.
ELECTRIC FAN RELAY CHECK
Disconnect all the relay cables.
With a tester (in Ohm meter function) measure the continuity between the power terminals.
- Exact value: infinite resistance.
Power the control contacts (connector) with a 12V battery.
With a tester (in Ohm meter function) measure the continuity between the power terminals.
- Exact value: resistance 0 Ohm.
ELECTRIC FAN REMOVAL
•
Lower the radiator and keep it connec-
ted to the sleeves.
CAUTION
OPERATE WITH CAUTION SO AS NOT TO DAMAGE THE
RADIATOR FINS.
