 It is used in the door open warning system. It switches on and off the lights.
 Remove the magnet cover as illustrated in Picture 1 by using a flat-tipped screwdriver.
 Pull and remove the magnet shown in Picture 2.
 The magnet located in the fridge and freezer door’s upper covers interacts with the
reed switch board on the upper hinge covers.
