fuel leaks.

CKP Sensor
Removal
1. See Air Cleaner Assembly/Static Guard/
Decorative Cover/Blower Housing, Re-
moval.
2. Remove fuel rail retaining clip from hole in
CKP sensor bracket.
3. Remove two hex fl ange screws to release
CKP sensor bracket from cylinder mounting
bosses.
4. Disconnect CKP sensor connector.
Installation
1. Start two hex fl ange screws to fasten CKP
sensor bracket to cylinder mounting boss-
es. Alternately tighten screws until snug.
2. On side opposite connector, install mount-
ing plate in groove of CKP sensor housing.
3. Insert CKP sensor into bracket. Align hole
in mounting plate with hole stamped “49”
on bracket. Install TORX screw and tighten
to 25-35 in-lbs (3-4 Nm).
4. Loosen two bracket screws and adjust as
necessary until gap between CKP sensor
and fl ywheel tooth is 0.030 inches (0.76
mm). See Figure 5-8.
5. Alternately tighten CKP sensor bracket
screws to 20-30 in-lbs (2-3 Nm).
6. Connect CKP sensor connector.
7. Install fuel rail retaining clip into hole in
CKP sensor bracket.

EHT Sensor
NOTE: The EHT sensor is an integral part of
the EFI wire harness and is not sold sepa-
rately. Replace EFI wire harness if EHT sensor
is bad.
EFI Wire Harness
Removal
1. See Air Cleaner Assembly/Static Guard/
Decorative Cover/Blower Housing, Re-
moval.
2. Remove fl ywheel. Proceed as follows:
a. Using an air impact wrench or breaker
bar, loosen fl ywheel nut.
b. Remove four hex fl ange screws to re-
lease fan from fl ywheel.
c. Unthread fl ywheel nut from crankshaft
taper and then thread back on a couple
turns.
d. Obtain fl ywheel puller (Part No. 19621).
e. Using the larger holes in the puller tool,
and with the open side facing upward,
place tool over crankshaft taper seating
it on the fl ywheel nut.
