■ Cancelling the deselect region setting

Select the thread color whose setting is to be
cancelled, and then touch .
The key changes to , and the deselect region
setting is cancelled.
• If thread colors were combined with , the deselect
region setting will also be cancelled for all thread
colors that are the same as the one that was selected.

The starting/ending position settings screen appears.

• When selecting
The machine can set the starting point and the ending
point separately from the 9 points of the pattern. Those
are upper-left corner, upper-center, upper-right corner,
center-left, center, center-right, lower-left corner, lower-
center and lower-right corner.
This function can be used to repeatedly embroider a
pattern along a diagonal. (page 127)
• When selecting
When rotating the pattern while checking the
embroidering position shown by the camera, the
embroidering starting position can be set using a mask
based on the pattern before it has been rotated, which is
useful for aligning. (page 75)
• If the deselect region setting is applied to a
character pattern, all characters in the pattern will
not be embroidered. To deselect region for a single
character, use to separate the character
pattern (page 44), or use (page 54).
If the Multi Color key is used to specify that thread
colors not be embroidered, multi-color text cannot
be turned off.
• The parts with the deselect region setting applied
are not deleted. They can be reverted to being
embroidered (refer to “Cancelling the deselect
region setting” on page 126).
• If the deselect region setting has been applied to all
thread colors, a red appears at the location of
the pattern.

• If the machine is temporarily turned off, the settings
to deselect region that were specified before the
machine was turned off are not cancelled.
However, the settings are cancelled if the same
pattern is selected again.
• When a pattern with the deselect region setting
applied is saved, the deselect region setting is also
saved. However, the pattern cannot be saved if the
deselect region setting is applied to all thread
colors.
• When the machine is purchased, is selected
and both the starting position and the ending
position are set to the center of the pattern.
• The starting/ending position settings do not
change until the key for a new setting is touched.
The settings specified before the machine is turned
off remain selected the next time that the machine
is turned on. (If an embroidery positioning sticker is
used to align the pattern, or basting is added or
removed, the setting will return to its default.)
