PREPARING FOR FIERY CONTROLLER SETUP 22
Ethernet connection
For Ethernet connections, the Fiery Controller supports Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)
cabling for these network speeds:
10BaseT: Category 3 or higher
100BaseTX: Category 5 or higher (4-pair/8-wire, short-length)
1000BaseT: Category 5e or higher (4-pair/8-wire, short-length)
TO CONNECT TO THE NETWORK
1 Power off the printer and Fiery Controller.
2 Connect the cable from the network to the network port.
3 On the Fiery Controller, make sure the power switch is in the ON position and then press the
power button.
Once the LED states 00 continuously, you may proceed to the next step.
4 Power on the printer using the main power switch on the front.
5 After the Start page prints, do the following:
Using the Configuration page, verify that the IP address of the printer is set to
100.100.100.101. If the address is not correct, check and reseat the cable between the Fiery
Controller and the printer. For more information about printing a Configuration page, see
page 47.
Press Services Home and then verify that the Fiery icon appears on the printer touch panel.
