8.3 Rate Limiter
8.3.1 Description of the Rate Limiter
To ensure reliable data exchange during heavy traffic, the Switch can limit
the traffic.
Entering a limit rate for each port specifies the amount of traffic the Switch is
permitted to transmit and receive.
If the data load transmitted at this port exceeds the maximum load entered,
the Switch will discard the excess data at this port.
A global setting enables/disables the rate limiter function at all ports.
8.3.2 Rate Limiter settings
Select the Switching:Rate Limiter dialog.
X "Ingress Limiter (kbit/s)" allows you to enable or disable
the ingress limiter function for all ports and
to select the ingress limitation on all ports (either broadcast packets
only or broadcast packets and Multicast packets).
X "Egress Limiter (Pkt/s)" allows you to enable or disable the egress
limiter function for broadcasts on all ports.
