– Clamp the plus cable of the battery charger to the positive terminal extension and
the minus cable to an unpainted location on the engine . Switch on the battery
charger.

You can also use the battery charger to test rest potential and start potential of the bat-
tery, and to test the generator. With this device, you cannot overcharge the battery.
– Switch off and disconnect the charger after charging.
Guideline
Charge the battery regularly when the
motorcycle is not in use

– Mount the red protective cover of the positive terminal extension.
– Install the right underride guard. ( p. 96)
13.4Changing the main fuse

Fire hazard The electrical system can be overloaded by the use of incorrect fuses.
– Use only fuses with the prescribed amperage. Never by-pass or repair fuses.
