INTRODUCTION
1. GENERAL
This Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) documents the operation of and suggested
maintenance for the Model FA5000 Cockpit Voice Recorder/Flight Data Recorder, herein
after referred to as the Model FA5000 or FA5000.
FA5013 CVR features:
F ED-112 compliant recording duration of 2−hours minimum Audio and Data Link
F On−Board Maintenance System (OMS) monitoring
F Meets the performance requirements of ED-112
F Meets interface requirements of ARINC 757/A cockpit voice input data.
F Cockpit voice and area microphone channels are lowpass filtered, sampled,
digitized, compressed, and stored in solid-state, crash protected memory.
F Maintenance-free recorder (ON CONDITION LRU): no periodic adjustments,
calibration required
F 90-Day Underwater Locator Beacon (ULB).
All installation and testing tasks concerning the ULB are covered in detail in the
Underwater Locator Beacon Installation & Operation Manual, L3 P/N:
165E5542-10 and the Underwater Locator Beacon CMM, L3 P/N: 165E5542-00.
