–Thespeakerpowercableisconnectedtoaproperlygrounded,functionalacelectricaloutlet.
•Ifyourexternalspeakershaveavolumecontrol,ensurethatthevolumeisnotsettoolow.
•ClickthevolumeiconintheWindowsnotificationareaonthetaskbar.Ensurethatthemutespeakers
settingsarenotselectedandnoneofthevolumesettingsissettoolow.

•Forsomecomputersthathaveafrontaudiopanel,ensurethatthevolumeisnotsettoolow.
•Ensurethatyourexternalspeakers(andheadphones,ifused)areconnectedtothecorrectaudio
connectorsonthecomputer.Mostspeakercablesarecolor-codedtomatchtheconnectors.
Note:Whenexternal-speakerorheadphonecablesareconnectedtotheaudioconnectors,theinternal
speaker,ifpresent,isdisabled.Inmostcases,ifanaudioadapterisinstalledinoneoftheexpansion
slots,theaudiofunctionbuiltintothesystemboardisdisabled.Therefore,youmustusetheaudio
connectorsontheaudioadapter.
•EnsurethattheprogramyouarerunningisdesignedforuseontheWindowsoperatingsystem.Ifthe
programisdesignedtoruninDOS,theprogramdoesnotusetheWindowssoundfeature.Theprogram
mustbeconfiguredtouseSoundBlasterProorSoundBlasteremulation.
•Ensurethattheaudiodevicedriversarecorrectlyinstalled.
