2.2 Features of the DRU
The DRU has the following features.
• In the case of the conventional NEAX2400 IMS, cables for connecting the D
term
s to the system are re-
quired as many as the number of D
term
s/Analog PB TELs. However, use of the DRU enables maximum
23 or 30 D
term
s/30 Analog PB TELs can be connected to the system by means of 2-pair cables and thus
the number of the cables for D
term
/Analog PB TEL can be reduced.
• Even when the system is installed in a wide area such as a factory, a university premises, etc., the dis-
tance between the NEAX2400 IMS and the DRU can be extended using digital line.
• As one set of the DRU can be connected to maximum 23 or 30 D
term
s/30 Analog PB TELs, when in-
creasing the number of D
term
s/Analog PB TELs, installation work is required only between the DRU
and D
term
s/Analog PB TELs and no installation work is required between the NEAX2400 IMS and the
DRU.
